Servers will be coming down tomorrow morning at 3AM PST for approximately 2 hours. The downtime is for general server maintenance to promote stability.
We are also temporarily removing Molotov Cocktails from Battle Royale as we work on a fix for a related crash bug.

Working on a Close Quarter Combat test zone so we can work on our CQC combat and make it better. pic.twitter.com/nkxC7sB7wU

We have a lot of zones, for example this is the test zone that basically is completely flat with a grid as the floor. We use these test zones so we don't interfere with the rest of the team that is implementing things on zone 1.
This small scale CQC area is being created so the combat designers have a playground to test and balance combat tweaks, and for some programmers to help with client/server latency and make the overall combat gameplay feel better.

Don't forget to take part in the discussion about this video on the r/h1z1 subreddit.
There was also a "hidden" flash of an image towards of the end of the video too which we have enhanced below
It’s our very first pass at this so greater improvements and functionality will be forthcoming. It is global, which means you choose ONE cursor/color here and it’s for everything. It’s also the same for First and Third Person.
They will be unlocked in-game already, they should be coming to the next content update.

Happy New Year fellow survivors!
Here at Survivors Rest we have been working away at designing and implementing some great new features for the site, one of the main features we're excited to unveil is price voting.
One of the biggest problems with trading H1Z1 items currently is price disputes and the lack of a consistent and accurate list of suggested prices for non-marketable items. There are lists out there but these are generally incomplete, created by a single person and could even be motiviated by self-interest. So we thought why not provide that list and allow the community as a whole to keep it accurate it!
Here's how it works, all non-marketable items will have a suggested price, if a user believes the price is inaccurate based off of current asking prices and demand then they can submit a price suggestion with proof. Any other user on the site can then upvote or downvote that suggestion and even leave a comment in response.
After a certain amount of time and votes the suggestion will be accepted or rejected, but be careful, anyone who voted the wrong way will lose points, negative points means you can't suggest prices yourself, you can read more about the points here.
To start this democratic system off we have set what we believe are the most accurate suggested prices for all of the non-marketable items. Some may be surprised at the initial prices we have set in comparison to the outdated list at r/H1Z1Market, it does not include any of the newest items, has not been updated in a month and as such is severely inaccuurate.
For the first week or two we will be allowing only specific users the ability to suggest new prices, once the system has been tested out we will open up that ability to all users.
If you are interested in suggesting prices during this time, please apply here.
For anyone interested, we plan on implemnting an API for this data also.
We've had connectivity issues and we apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused - many people were working on it, we just couldn't provide specific times it would be corrected until we narrowed down the problem, which turned out to be several issues combined. We've made changes to the network connection that should help the majority of people that were experiencing problems (it has changed several times recently due to external factors, so it's pretty new) - we'll continue to monitor that to make sure it delivers as well as possible for everyone. This would be general unexpected lag/desync or getting errors when going back to character select, as examples. It should be mentioned that these network issues were not BattlEye related, although it's understandable for people to assume they might be, as that's a recent visible change.
We've also discovered an issue that seemed to appear at the same time which was completely unrelated, but especially affected people who had characters on the Australian servers - we're going to be addressing that coming up, but for now it is stable. Lastly there are also some people who appear to have older versions of BattlEye floating around, so we'll update with executables that detect that condition and address it automatically.
If you're wondering why it took a while, those three major things conspired to give us lots of different symptoms at once, and we had to eliminate, identify, and correct as much as possible of each, while keeping the game up and running for those who weren't having issues. There were also as often happens in networking a few false paths that we had to explore to make sure they weren't a cause, and that added in additional time. We're not yet done making all the fixes because some need testing, but we have a solid line now on the various causes.
We appreciate all the reports and help we have received from you in tracking down these issues. We will continue our efforts in stabilizing the game and get things back up and running smoothly. Thank you again for your patience.
