A new update just hit the test server, below is some information regarding professions...

Please remember this may not be final and may change before hitting live servers.

It appears that there will be three options in the initial implementation of professions:

Paramedic
Before the H1Z1 outbreak you were a hotshot new paramedic. Your training in the field of emergency medicine made you an expert in the realm of field triage.  On your last emergency call you barely escaped when a pack of H1Z1 infected zombie attacked your partner and turned to you. In your panic you fled the scene unable to save your partner. Now that the infection has spread you must rely on your medical skills to survive as you seek out other survivors in hopes that you can find a way to escape the hell of this outbreak.

Park Ranger
As a park ranger you have spent most of your days protecting nature and preserving the parklands. While investigating a report of strange behavior from a visiting group of boy scouts in the woods, you found yourself in the midst of a zombie attack that had already claimed the lives of the troop at the hands of their infected troop leader. Now that the outbreak has taken hold your knowledge of survival has prepared you to live off the land while you try to find other survivors.

Repairman
As a handyman, you have spent your adult life doing an array of things from construction to car repair. You are a genuine Mr. Fixit who found yourself at the wrong place at the wrong time. While helping a group of people who had stopped on the side of the road with what appeared to be car trouble, you got your first taste of the H1Z1 epidemic .Before you realized it, your attempt to be a good Samaritan placed you in a life or death situation as you fought off a group of zombified individuals. Now your variety of skills will be put to the test as you do what you can to survive long enough to find others, and hopefully a way out.

Along with the Paramedic profession there is also some insight to its perks:

Your health is slowly returning because you have recently been bandaged.

[Healing is improved due to your Paramedic bandaging skills]

[Health does not regenerate with H1Z1 Severe or above]

Test Server Update (17/07/2015)

We're pushing a sizable update to the Test Server between 5:30-6:00pm PST with a fair number of changes. I don't yet have the complete list of changes, but a quick list is:

EDIT: There was a configuration error, we're correcting it - the servers will be back later tonight The servers are back up now. Enjoy!

  • Update AI Nav-Mesh and data
  • Several Client crash fixes
  • updated textures and added objects
  • animation adjustments

EDIT:

  • Changed flow for Team BR so you don't get kicked out if your team-mate is disconnected for some reason.

This is another publish in our Quality of Life updates, and we are looking to push these changes to the LIVE servers next week after testing.

Patch Notes (16/07/2015)

Servers will go down at 3:00am Pacific and will remain down for 3 hours.

NOTICE: Found a last minute bug with Team BR. When the patch comes to Live tomorrow morning at 6AM, Team BR will be unavailable. We expect the fix to be relatively quick and hope to get Team BR back up and running a little later in the day.

Patch Notes
  • Battle Royale rewards have been added to Team BR
  • Top 5 two man teams get rewarded
  • Fixed UI bug where "character create failed" message would be shown for no good reason.
  • Fixed issue with zombies taking two head-shots from arrow before going down.
  • Bears AI should be more responsive and act correctly.
  • Performance and stability enhancements.

This is the first update from our 2 weeks of bug fixes and stability. You will see more patches going to Test and Live than our normal cadence.

Hospital WIP #5

If you didn't already know, it was mentioned in the last livestream that the team are aiming for August for the addition of this Hospital and the City!

Hey Survivors.

This is what we have planned out for July. You may notice that it's not as crowded as previous months. This is not an indication that production is slowing down. This is a month that we would like to really focus on stability and core gameplay issues alongside adding new things.

Everyone of these updates will also come with bug fixes.

July 14th
  • Leaderboards: In the Box of Destiny before a Battle Royale match, you will now see player stats displayed on the Leaderboards. Win and kills will be tracked on daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards. *
  • Grenade Update: We’ve added the ability to pull the pin and cook the grenade before throwing. Added animation support to help show where the grenade should land. *
  • AK-47 Crafting Recipe: There will be a new recipe added so you can turn your AK-47 into a semi-auto rifle.

July 21st
  • Professions: When creating a new character you will be able to select what their profession was before the apocalypse. This will give your character different stat bonuses and other unique things. Note that this will be a very early pass at the Professions system and will launch with just a few to choose from.
  • New Zombie Type - Screamer: You will find this zombie sitting alone in places around the map. If you fail to kill it silently it will get up and run away from you screaming the whole time. It’s screams will draw in other zombies. It will also have increased health, making it harder to take down.

July 28th
  • Marketplace Tab: You will now be able to access your account inventory from the main menu. This will allow you access to the marketplace and be able to open crates without logging into a server.
  • Meat Grenade: This grenade will create a large area of heat, drawing zombies to it. It will explode after a long fuse to make sure that the zombies have enough time to get to it.
  • Noisemaker Grenade: The noisemaker will create a loud sound that will pull all zombies within earshot to that area.

Patch Notes & Wipe #7 (07/07/2015)

There will be a player/world wipe during this time.

Patch Notes:
  • Heavy clouds and rain have been added alongside fog
  • Military Checkpoints and Camp Bastion have been added to the map.
  • Grenades can now be thrown by clicking the left mouse button only. You no longer have to hold down the right mouse button first.
  • Throwing a grenade will now automatically reload another grenade from your inventory if you have it.
  • Tweaked the handling of grenades some more and added new first-person animations. Throwing grenades should feel improved.
  • A unique reticle was added to the bow while aiming.
  • New Vigilante Crate
  • Removed the dot reticle from ironsights on all guns (bows not affected)
  • Bear behavior has been tweaked so they are a little bit more reasonable. While they are still deadly escape should now be a possibility.
  • Team Battle Royale will remain only on the Test Server while we iron out a few more issues

Game Fixes:
  • First Person Servers and HCBR no longer show the camera inside the player character driving vehicles.
  • Adjusted the ironsights on the AR-15 and AK47
  • Fixed a bug with tree shadows sometimes not rendering in a halo around the player.
  • Fixed exploit where player could hide in tree by exiting a vehicle.

Thank you for all your reports of bugs on the Test Server. We were able to get some into this patch and we will continue to work out the more difficult ones this week and patch them in.

Test Server Update (02/07/2015)

Some new things have been added to the Test Server. Try them out and report back any issues you might encounter with them.

Test Server Patch Notes
  • New Vigilante Crate
  • Military Checkpoints and Camp Bastion have been added to the map.

  • Grenades and Molotovs now have a unique reticle.
  • A unique reticle was added to the bow while aiming.

  • Bear Revamp:
    • Standup warning when you get within 25m
    • Rush you when you get within 15m
    • No longer jumping all over when they are attacking you (should stand in front of you properly like the wolf does now)
    • You can actually outrun them if you sprint. It will take some time but before it was impossible as you had to get 100m away from them and their run speed was higher than your sprint speed


Additionally:
  • Fixed a crash bug for some folks changing settings
  • Added additional logic to support the Bear AI
  • Corrected backwards collision on Military Tents
  • Adjusted shadows to correct for some of the "halo" lights

Patch Moved To Tuesday July 7th

Hi All, You probably just read the title of this post and blood pressure is skyrocketing.

We've been cranking this week trying to get a publish together for you all. Although it is up on the Test Server right now, we're just not comfortable releasing it to the live environment. Reason being, we've been fighting a handful of critical issues this week which we're confident have been resolved. We just really need to let this bake on Test for a few days. Since it is a Holiday weekend (In the US) we want to make sure the game remains playable. That being said, we’re going to shoot for a next Tuesday publish to live (Yes including Team BR). This also includes the much anticipated wipe.

BTW: Test server will most likely be wiped at some point today.

Patch Moved to Thursday July 2nd

We are moving the patch this week to Thursday. You can expect updates to the Test Server as we get things online for Leaderboards and Team BR.

If you haven't already, jump into the Test server and check out some of the updates coming to Thursday's patch. New fog effects and military outposts are already there.

We will still be streaming later today and talking more about Thursday's patch. Hope to see you there!

Also, Bears!
We made some changes to the unstoppable killing machines we all know and love. These changes should be going to Test today and Live with Thursday's patch.

  • Standup warning when you get within 25m
